Pilot Rock is a large-scale design inspired by the Pilot Rock in Oregons Western Cascades, which rises above the Rogue and Shasta Valleys. The areas original inhabitants, the Takelma (“those along the river”), called it Tan-tsat-seniphtha, or Stone Standing Up.
